The Inbetweeners Movie Trailer

Young people are presented in a variety of ways in this short movie trailer.

  • First of all the camera actions are fast moving and sharp just like a teenagers reactions and moods. Unlike an adults persona which is slow and deary. This also could represent how 'upbeat' life is been a teenager.
  • Whereas the characters shows us that in the trailers that they are stereotypical teenagers with typical teenage issues. At 1.00 minute in we can see that Jay says "I don't want to be stuck with the fat one" ... this is foreshadowing and automatically the camera changes so that the girl- that Jay does not want all of suddenly appears in the camera zone.
  •  Also the whole trailer goes in chronological order from the beginning all the way to the "mental holiday" as Jay describes. You can see that it goes from a fishmongers to Malia where they are doing what all teenagers want to do after they have finished sixth form, which is to go on holiday, get wasted, have random tattoos with each others names on and then regret everything in the morning. This is not presenting teenagers in a good way if anything it is showing parents the dangers of letting a teenager out in the big world by themselves, this could lead to parents not trust and allowing there teenage children to do anything like what is shown in the trailer.
  • Half of the time in the trailer, the young people are practically naked (Yes, I understand they are on holiday) but its true, when you walk among the streets of Britain we see teenagers with everything on show. So therefore the trailer is showing the typical day to day life of a young person.
  • You also see the 'cocky' attitude from characters 'Jay', young people try and act the big person in things, so you can that when the little boy tries to speak to Jay the little boy takes advantage of his attitude and 'kegs him' (pulls his trousers down) and this happens all the time been a teenager, because so many people think that they are so good. Especially the camera zones down for a short period of time to the crotch area. Obviously this is a trailer, but been the whole film this would be on for a longer time, just like the embarrassment on Jays face (been the teenager who got flashed).
  • The accents are truly 'British' or cockney. The dialect is 'teenager' which is the huffing and puffing sounds that everybody thinks of a teenager as having. All the words such as "Mental", "sex", "sick" are all words highly used by the young population. So this trailer really is appealing too them.
  • The soundtracks in the background vary in order to match the scene in the trailer. You have 'We speak no americano' to show off the dance routine by Neil and during the time the trailer was released this song was huge in the younger class of people.
